The Department of Urologic Sciences carries on state of the art healthcare delivery at the three UBC teaching hospitals in the Lower Mainland: Vancouver Acute (VCH and UBC sites), Providence Health Care (St. Paul’s and MSJ sites), and Children’s and Women’s Health Centre of British Columbia. The Department is responsible for the training of medical students, urology residents and specialty fellows to provide for the future urologic needs of the province.
The Department of Urologic Sciences is a world leader in the study of prostate cancer, bladder cancer, benign prostate illness, minimally invasive surgery (lap and robotics), urologic problems in children, kidney stone disease, voiding dysfunction, including incontinence and neurogenic bladder, men’s health issues (including sexual health, andrology and fertility) and critical evaluation of new urologic technology.
